I've had so many wedding events recently, from Bachelorette party to bridal shower to actual weddings...! It is always so fun picking out cards for each occasion. I almost want to keep them because they are so beautiful. Here are some of my favorites.

Basta Pasta

Last night I got dinner with my dad who was in town for work. Since my dad tends to only eat Japanese or Italian wherever he is traveling, we decided why not go to a Japanese-Italian fusion restaurant? Apparently, we have come here before as a family when I was still in preschool (no recollection at all). That means that Basta Pasta has been in NY for over two decades!

When I walked in, I immediately felt as if I were transported back to Japan. I don't really know how to describe it, but there's definitely a very unique Japanese/Italian ambiance that is specific to Japan.

We started out with a grilled octopus antipasto and salmon carpaccio. For the pasta course, I chose the Uni (sea urchin) spaghetti. We shared the seared duck with mustard kale and mushrooms for the main entree. Everything was delicious and not too heavy! I even had room for dessert (always). I picked my favorite of all times: FLAN!

 It's been so beautiful this week in NY. Perfect weather for a rooftop picnic! Thank you Charlotte for hosting this impromptu get together :) 

Women in culottes

Culottes are definitely the trend. I see them EVERYWHERE! Just got a pair yesterday at Rag & Bone on sale...! So happy. Rag & Bone calls them "shorts" but on me it's a perfect length culotte. Also got their Girl Tank which is the perfect crop top I've been searching for; not too tight, boxy but still structured. I will be wearing both items all summer long. 

I also got an e-mail from Everlane about their new bermuda shorts. They look so comfy and stylish!

life in the big city

Hello (again) blog world! This is my third or fourth attempt at writing a blog. I'm giving it another try, not only because I've been lurking at other bloggers recently (and consequently, spending a lot of money from the linked sites) and getting inspired to make my own, but also because I think it is such a great tool to share my life with friends and family around the world. Even if you're not following, it's still a good way for me to keep track of events and inspirations in my life...!

To start off, a little sneak peak into my recent life. 

Daily commute to Manhattan. Lunch breaks near Central Park. Runs in Prospect Park.

Not bad...but can I go on my vacation soon?
